Splish Splash its Kg 2's swimming day!

Yipee! Wednesday is here and children rush to school excited hoping the day will be sunny so they can hit the pool! Though some think of imaginative excuses to not go! Children quickly change into their swimming gear dash into the school van and zoom down to the complex pool.

We start with a slide down SPLASH into the pool!

Then we practise holding on to the wall and kicking nice and hard!

We enjoy some pool games at the end after which we change and head back to school.

Its P.E. Time!

Monday is here! Kg 2's change into their P.E. uniform and head to the field for another exciting hour of physical exercise along with their teacher Mr. Kimani. He leads the children first with few warm up exercises.

 Then we practise some catch and throwing skills. Here we go yes catch with both your hands and put your arms up and throw the ball back high!

 Everyone gets a try with the ball and then we hold hands and make a nice big circle! That's right, it time for some circle games. After which we warm down with breathing out and breathing in exercises.

My Family and Home

The first theme for the new year is "My Family and Home." Children learnt the importance of family and their own home. We also learnt cleanliness and adab in a mumin's home. We differentiated beween a mumin and non mumin's home and how we should be grateful to our Aqa Moula (T.U.S.) and his Mansoos (T.U.S.) for guiding us in the right direction. We also introduced the concept of animal families and home. Humans aren't the only beings that live in families -- so do animals. We discussed the different types of animal families, the roles of the animals in the family and the names for baby and adult animals. Teaching them early on the importance of caring for animals. Animals need to be respected and handled with caution. Teaching children about animals helps them have a good relationship with animals later on in life.

Children made an origami house and pasted their family photo.

Children learnt a rhyme about their family members. They shared the number of family members with their classmates. The smallest family we had were three and the largest went upto TEN! Each child drew their family!

We also did a tracing activity on other animal homes.

 

Parent's Notice Board

Karzan Hasanah cards and money will be collected every Friday.

You can send money every Friday for our school's sadaka and nazrul makam collection. This is an exercise carried out to help your child learn its importance.

Kindly send an old oversize short sleeve shirt for your child to wear during painting. Please ensure it is always in the bag for your child to use. Wash during the weekends.

Every Friday we shall have our Library Day where your child will bring a story book home. Kindly read the story to your child and return back on the next Friday without fail in order for your child to get another one. Any damaged or lost book will have to be replaced.

P.E. will take place every Monday. Kindly ensure your child wears the P.E. uniform under the school uniform and comes wearing sports shoes that day.

Swimming will take place every Wednesday. Kindly make sure your child wears the swimsuit under the school uniform to save changing time.

Chocolate Day!

Whew! We made it to Wednesday! We had another fun and busy day! We celebrated the "World's Chocolate Day" on the 5th September. We called parents to join in with the celebration! oh we had a yummy day:)

                                                        We watched how chocolate is made.

 The Kg 3 performed a poem about the different types and kinds of chocolate

 The Kg 2 each came up and said a riddle which answer was a chocolate's name for the parents to try out!

Thanks to a mummy from Kg 1 we all got together and yippee made chocolate balls...roll roll some more and pop in our little tots mouth!

Then we blended in some delicious creamy chocolate smoothie for our children and guests to enjoy and gulp down!

Children also had a scrumptious chocolate mousse during snack time!

In class children rolled some more chocolate balls from moulding dough!
