Senses Project

During the month of June, our new project was on 5 Senses. Children learnt about the functions of the senses by doing different activities. We first started with the sense of smell whereby, children brought from home different things with different smells. We then moved onto the sense of taste where every child was given a different taste(e.g bitter, sour, sweet, salty) and were to bring something of that taste. Next we moved to the sense of hearing and the children went for a walk around the school compound and listened to the different sounds that they heard. We went back to class and brainstormed the different sounds we heard. The sense of sight brought about a game which they played online and had to spot the difference from two identical pictures with differences that are not easily spotted. Lastly for the sense of touch we had the children feel different materials such as sand paper, cotton wool etc so that they can differentiate textures of rough, hard, soft, smooth.
